Join us for Sanhoti's Phalaharini Kali Pujo at the Irvine Mandir, 8 Autry, Irvine, Orange County.
Rooted in Bengal's rich spiritual tradition, Phalaharini Kali Pujo is dedicated to Maa Kali. Popularised in the 19th century through Sri Ramakrishna's devotion, it is observed on the new-moon night of Jyeshtha. On this sacred day devotees pray to Maa Kali to free them from past mistakes, negativity, and to grant inner strength and peace — "phalaharini" meaning she who takes away the fruits of our actions.
It is a quieter, more inward observance than the Kali Puja of Diwali night, and for many Bengalis it is the more personal of the two. The evening includes the full puja and anjali conducted by a priest, prasad served to all who attend, and time together as a community.
Come be a part of an evening of devotion, culture and togetherness as we celebrate this beautiful legacy of Bengal. Let's gather, seek blessings, and celebrate as one family.
Open to everyone across Orange County and Southern California, whatever your background.
