Sanhoti celebrates Saraswati Puja every spring in Orange County, California, with traditional pushpanjali, hatekhori (a child's first writing ceremony), Bengali bhog, and a cultural programme of song, recitation, and dance by our community's children and adults.

What happens at Sanhoti's Saraswati Puja
- Pushpanjali — the flower offering, performed together by all attendees.
- Hatekhori — young children write their first letters, a cherished Bengali rite of passage.
- Bhog — traditional vegetarian khichuri prasad served to everyone.
- Cultural programme — Rabindra Sangeet, recitation, dance, and performances by community members.
- Anjali attire — yellow is traditionally worn for Basant Panchami.
Who can attend
Everyone is welcome. Sanhoti's Saraswati Puja celebration is open to Bengali, Indian, and non-Indian families from across Orange County and Southern California — Rancho Santa Margarita, Irvine, Tustin, Costa Mesa, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo, and beyond.
